The IDS VIP Lounge design has been driven by an interest in sustainable building materials that are warm, inviting, tactile and possess qualities that support environmental design and new futures.
Inspired by products that are recycled or self-generating and that reference regional materiality, the studio developed a primary palette of cork and paper. Layered over this warm palette, additional ambient materials like felt and vellum provide sound dampening and light transmitting qualities.
