The brief was to renovate a 90’s townhouse in Point Grey, removing transitional elements and replacing them with modern details and warm finishes that felt appropriate in the home. The clients wanted a carefully composed series of spaces that could support their routines, accommodate their children and grandchildren and display their beautiful collection of art and furniture.

Natural white oak flooring and millwork, painterly Cote d’Azur marble and contrasting stained black ash feature on the main floor where the living room and kitchen/dining room can be closed off by a full height pocketing door. The second level includes an oak-cad office space, a warm terracotta primary bedroom and a a white and glass architectural staircase.

Fluted glass doors enclose a kitchen pantry that is illuminated from within, creating a dynamic display for the client’s extensive collection of glassware.

On the top level which boasts peek-a-boo views of the ocean, the bathroom is clad entirely in a dark blue handmade ceramic tile. The walls of the shower are gently washed in light from two Bocci 14 sconces.
